Activity Description:
The Arctic Observing Summit (AOS) is a biennial summit that aims to provide guidance based on the best available knowledge for the design, implementation, coordination and sustained long-term (decades) operation of an international network of Arctic observing systems. The AOS provides a platform to foster international communication and the widespread coordination of long-term observations aimed at improving understanding and responding to system-scale Arctic change. The AOS is an international forum for optimizing resource allocation through coordination and exchange among all involved or interested in long-term observing activities, while minimizing duplication and gaps.
The 2024 Arctic Observing Summit will include the following working groups and ten additional breakout sessions:
WG 1: Regional to Global Observing
WG 2: Data Sharing
WG 3: System Implementation/SAON ROADS
WG 4: Observing System Benefits
